Sumter County Council July 24 meeting New!


Sumter County Council Tuesday evening denied a request to rezone a tract of land for a cemetery, passed second reading for a request to amend an ordinance related to a salvage yard and passed third and final reading to allow feather flags with specific guidelines.

Council members also passed first reading of an ordinance to approve an intergovernmental loan with the S.C. Public Service Authority to construct a new economic development building and adjoining building pad.

Under limited supervision, is responsible for performing general accounting duties of the Finance office and includes working with the expenditure budgets of the County. Regularly interacts with Department managers, Elected officials, employees in other departments, co-workers and the general public. This position may be required to perform special projects as assigned by an immediate supervisor or other management personnel. Is responsible for monitoring expenditure budgets. Reviews and updates accounts payable batches prepared by other personnel.

On June 12, 2018, Sumter County Council approved the third and final reading for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Ordinance.  This year’s budget proposal was balanced at $52,752,483 revenues and expenditures with “NO TAX INCREASE.”
