The Sumter County Museum has announced the Temple Sinai Jewish History Center at 11 Church Street will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2.
Rabbi Sanford Marcus will conduct a special commemorative Shabbat service at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1 and the public is invited to attend.
Sumter's Holocaust Memorial was moved in early May to a new location next to the Temple Sinai.
Starting Thursday, June 7, the Center will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission for seniors 65 and up is $2, $5 for adults 18 to 64, $2 for students 6 to 17 and free 6 and under.
