Sumter County Council passes first reading of a balanced budget with no tax increase during Tuesday's meeting


Sumter County Council passed first reading Tuesday evening of a balanced budget with no tax increase for the upcoming Fiscal Year.

Sumter County Administrator Gary Mixon, Assistant Administrator Lorraine Dennis, Finance Director Jamie Michaelson and council members worked through a list of capital requests during a second budget workshop before the regular meeting. The master budget worksheet shows expenditures matching revenues at $52,752,483 for Fiscal Year 2018-19.

On June 12, 2018, Sumter County Council approved the third and final reading for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Ordinance.  This year’s budget proposal was balanced at $52,752,483 revenues and expenditures with “NO TAX INCREASE.”
