Sumter County Voter Registration and Elections Director Pat Jefferson would like to remind folks that filing for Sumter School District Areas 1,2,3,4 and two At-Large seats opens at noon on July 16.

Filing will take place with City Clerk Linda Hammett. Her phone number is (803) 436-2578 and her office is located on the fourth floor of the Sumter Opera House at 21 North Main Street. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
On June 12, 2018, Sumter County Council approved the third and final reading for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Ordinance. This year’s budget proposal was balanced at $52,752,483 revenues and expenditures with “NO TAX INCREASE.”
