Community Center Construction and Renovation

There is a large void in community center offerings in certain portions of the county. Other existing community centers are in need of repair and renovations to make them better suited for guests and services.

The Penny for Progress will:

  • Construct new Community Centers in Pinewood, Salterstown, and the Concord / R.E. Davis Area.
  • Renovate the following existing Community Centers: Cherryvale Center, Ebenezer Center, Spectrum Community Center, Rembert/Rafting Creek Community Center, Mayesville Center, and Shiloh Center.

Project Details

  • The new Community Centers centers will typically include office space, restrooms, a small kitchen area, a classroom and a meeting room. Activities will vary from site-to-site depending on individual community interests and needs.
  • Existing Community Center Renovations vary from site-to-site:
    • Cherryvale Center: This facility will receive additional space, including classroom and storage areas along with kitchen renovations.
    • Concord / R.E. Davis Community Center: New Facility
    • Ebenezer Center: There will be a new large picnic shelter with tables and grills. Inside renovations will include a drop ceiling and wall repairs in the large meeting room.
    • Spectrum Community Center:  This renovation will include a new HVAC system, new insulated windows around the entire building, carpet and tile, and a new handicap entrance.
    • Rembert/Rafting Creek Community Center: These renovations include additional space,  including new classrooms and a storage area.
    • Mayesville Center: Renovations to the Mayesville Center include a pool house and picnic shelter.
    • Shiloh Center: This facility will receive a new large picnic shelter with tables and grills. Carpet and tile will also be installed in the interior.
